Cherry angiomas are treated using precise cryotherapy, with the applicator held approximately 4 mm above the skin at a 90-degree angle. The lesion is treated with a direct, controlled application, allowing a mild white frost to form evenly over the area. A small, raised white blister indicates a successful treatment.
After the initial freeze, the tissue is allowed to thaw for around 30 seconds before a second freeze is applied. As the skin rewarms, mild redness may appear due to the body’s natural inflammatory response.
Following treatment, cherry angiomas typically shrink and gradually disappear over a period of 2 to 6 weeks, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.
